Sunday, July 6, 10am – 1pm, All Are Welcome!
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people and a Nobel Peace Laureate. He frequently states that his life is guided by three major commitments: the promotion of basic human values in the interest of happiness, the fostering of inter-religious harmony and the preservation of Tibet’s Buddhist culture, a culture of peace and non-violence.
As practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism, we value very much the impact His Holiness had made not only for our spiritual guidance but for world peace. Traditionally, the Dalai Lama is viewed as the very embodiment of compassion, Chenrezig.
It is very fitting that we honor this most special occasion with Chenrezig meditation and tsok. Lama Padma will preside over meditation and he has extended an invitation to everyone to join us at Amrita in a joyous celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday and to pray for his Long Life.
This will be a perfect occasion to bring along your friends and family who may not be practitioners but perhaps feel connected or curious. Lama Padma and the Amrita sangha welcome you all!
Offer butter lamps here and/or tsok here.
